About Us
Est 2011
The Gimbernat Surgical Society (AQG) was established in 2011 by 4th year medical students from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Pompeu Fabra University. This student-driven society is guided by our esteemed Honorary President, Professor Manuel Pera. We are committed to encourage the growth and passion for surgical knowledge through events and activities.
Our primary purpose is to bring surgery closer to medical students to complete their formation at university. This way we get to inspire them to consider surgery as a viable career option. Our members share this common interest in the field of surgery and work together to achieve our objectives.
1. We search to strengthen the knowledge acquired during university lectures with hands-on , extracurricular surg.ical learning experiences.
2. We aim to create a strong interest in surgery among students.
3. We offer students valuable information and guidance throughout their career.
4. We actively seek to establish new connections with national and international surgical societies formed by fellow students.
5. Our organisation is committed to enhance medial formation by combining both clinical and human aspects of surgery
6. We organise meetings and events where students have the opportunity to learn from respected professionals.
7. We aim to cultivate meaningful relationships through our events and activities.
8. In addition to our educational objectives, we actively raise funds for charitable institutions that are dedicated to health promotions and disease healing.
The Gimbernat Surgical Society is committed to bring up a new generation of informed, inspired and compassionate medical professionals.
